PC Recycling Procedures
Hard Drive Destruction

When a PC comes into one of our partner facilities, the hard drive is removed for individual data destruction. We either destroy the hard drive (this can also be done on your premises) or we destroy the data on the hard drive.

This is done by taking the drive out of the original PC and temporarily installing it into a data destruction PC. This computer is used solely for the purpose of destroying sensitive data. After the drive is installed we utilize a DOD Department of Defense approved data destruction program called Drive Wipe. This program writes 1's and 0's across the entire drive three times. Once this is done the drive information cannot be recovered.

This is not the only step we take. Once the original data is erased we remove the drive and install it in a second machine and use another DOD approved program to erase the drive again. Finally when a drive has been erased by both programs successfully we utilize a large magnetic bulk eraser to erase the drive a last time. This is the same bulk eraser we use for all tapes and DLT tapes to erase data.

After the information is destroyed, we issue a Certificate of DATA Destruction for the drives to the original owners for their records, also called DDC Data Destruction Certificates.

Should I Recycle My Old Mac/PC with Apple's Recycling Program?

There is VASTLY more to cover in microchips than this vid has time for, just a basic introduction to start the hunt! Not covered is gold bearing microchips and collector chips, this vid focuses on recovering chips for reuse...maybe when I accumulate some examples I'll do another vid. Also not covered the OTHER parts that will come off the boards too. If you don't know what it is, put it in a box later and research...many parts can be resold for reuse! WiPa Plast Compactor - Plastic Recycling Technology
WiPa Plast Compactor Fields of application The WiPA Plast Compactor of the PC series is used for gentle processing of thermoplastic materials. In a continuous process the material is heated to its specific softening temperature area which is below the corresponding melting point. The result is a high-quality agglomerate with high bulk density, easy to dose, with lowest possible thermal damage. Here are some examples for the wide variety of applications of WiPa Plast Compactors for thermoplastic materials: • Agglomeration of films, fibres, PET flakes, production scrap, foamed materials and powder • Compacting of any kind of thermoplastic material • Volume reduction/ increase of bulk density • Drying of plastics • Compounding • Re-crystallization • Production of free-flowing and dosable bulk material with high density The process A feeding systems transports shredded plastic to the buffer container. A stirrer in the buffer container guarantees permanent filling of the worm conveyor and prevents bridging. The worm conveyor pre-compacts the plastic to be recycled and feeds it to the Plast Compactor's disc pair. The disc pair consists of a moving rotor disc and a non-rotating stator disc serving as counter element. Kneading and rolling between the discs creates friction heat and plastifies, sinters and compresses the material. In this process step the melting point is not reached because the material only reaches a pasty condition and leaves the discs at its own volition. This <b>...</b>
